Back ground- Got a mare who foaled before I owned her leaving her very torn etc.. Owners sold on ASAP knowing.. ( another story) My vet has done best he can & stitched her up twice including internal, due to this and odd conformation with her girly bits it's got a shelf & then rather saggy, she does suck in some air, no where as bad as she did pre-op. Vets advice to now treat her as normal horse..
She has always gotten uti ( all the time) the vets knows, but they also said leave it/work through it as will pass, as otherwise she would be on anti-b all the time, can't be helped due to her now back end conformation.
she again has a uti and wondering if I can to anything at all to help ie put yogurt in feed or do something to ease it & keep her cleaner.
at mo it's just dribbling down her could be every 10 seconds to mins in between, she can go for a longer normal wee, but she also goes into wee postion for a slightly a bigger dribble comes out, with her giving lil groans. When dribbling guessing she is unaware as no effort is made to lift tail/legs. I have oiled legs & tail to stop the skin getting sore.
There must be something I can do? As I spend more time cleaning her tail & legs/ hosing stable floor then I ever do actually riding her.
