My horse has had a growth lasered off his body on Monday. Fortunately it was not a tumour. Anyway my vet said it was ok to start putting a Vitamin E face cream on it in a few days time to help the skin grow back. I just nodded and then when I got home, I realised I wasn't sure which one he meant so I thought I'd ask you knowledgeable people before trying to get hold of him again. Would E45 or something like that do? I've looked up horsey vitamin E products and they all seem to be supplements and not creams, so he definitely meant a human product.

You could use Bio Oil, or buy some vitamin E oil in capsules (or from someone who feeds it to their horse) and mix a bit of it into sudocrem. It works the same and is a lot cheaper. I got my OH to use it on his open heart surgery scar!

I used bloodroot on a young horse with warts. Vet advised me to use aloe vera cream afterwards which worked well. I would look up Holland & Barrett and they will have vit E cream or the aloe vera that I used.

I'd check with vet, but I have an E + zinkoxide diaper rash cream in my stable all the time. One of my most used products for wounds

Be careful with bio oil. Robin reacts badly to it (as do I! And of course I had just bough a huge bottle)

She has one on her side and we've been using Vitamin E cream for a while before buying Vitamin E capsules from ebay, snipping off the end and squeezing onto the wart. She had previously had the wart checked by the vet under a microscope and it's deffo not cancerous. I used Vitamin E cream on a horse about 25 years ago when he had a cluster of small sarcoids and they fell off within a couple of weeks.
