My horse was shod yesterday lunch time. Once farrier had taken old front shoes off and paired feet my horse was uncomfortable. He was lift his foot etc. Didnt make much of it tbh, so farrier finished him off. As i wen to put him back in his stable he looked abit sore. (he has been like this once before for half a day, then was fine.)
So i decided to turn him out for and hour, see if that helped.
Id didnt, so spoke to my trainer and she agreed to leave him and see how he was in the morning.

Been this morning, and hes the same. Very sore, worse when he starts off moving then it goes abit better. He is lame in trot tho.

So what could he have done/ farrier have done. Ive spoken to my farrier and he says see what he's like later, he cannot understand it as he was happy with how the shoes went on.

Ideas needed, also had paid enteries for a 2 day show starting tomo, doubt ill be off there now!

Is he sore on both feet or only 1?
sounds like you need to get the farrier to come out again, if he was fine before he was shod and only sore afterwards, it needs to be the shoes which are causing the issue.
Did the farrier cut the feet back alot? Are the clenches high up on the wall of the foot?

Just seems to be on front foot hes sore on. I am thinking farrier must of trimmed them back abit too much, as he was shoes before new ones were put on.

I rode him the night before and he was fine, so its got to be something to do with the farrier.

Spoken to farrier and he says he doesnt want to take shoes off, as it might not be them. Also says he was happy with how the shoes went on.

I think you need to speak to him again, if the horse was definately sound before he was shod and directly after he was sore, I think he needs to accept that it is something to do with the shoeing ! A good farrier would come straight back out if given this information !
he might be happy with how the shoes went on, but the horse definately isn't !
