I'm taking my mare to her 1st dressage test at the weekend, all advise welcome. She has not done any Dressage before, and fresh as a daisy... walk & trott test, and i'm sooooo nervous, But it's the taking part that counts..

just go and enjoy it!

Just treat it as a fun day out - The main thing is your horse has a positive experience and enjoys it....regardless of how she goes. Just have fun and smile. Would be interested to hear how it goes....

You could take her early and walk her around to get used to the atmosphere then lunge her for a bit to cool her off once she's settled down. Other than that, don't think of it as a competition, just imagine your at home in the arena. Dosn't matter if things go wrong. Oh, and have fun!

Sticky bum jods?
Just enjoy and dont take it too seriously. If you can try to just get a calm pony by the end of it thats more than enough for 1 day.

i did this with my boy not so long ago, his first ridden outing, just went along for the experience no pressue if we didnt get anywhere it didnt matter outlook, arrived early let him wander about then warmed up went in and had a great time only walk trot but a nice easy gentle experience for him.
Hope you have a great time
Good Luck
