The other thread got me thinking about winter..

I love my musto snugs in the winter, warm, showerproof. Easy to chuck on in a hurry. Against is they look cheap when they are not and are very VERY expensive. Depending on where I looked, anything between £80-£100 for what looks like an unflattering pair of leggings.

Any cheaper alternatives?!! particularly as they are not hardwearing either.

How about cyclists winter bottoms? Warm, water repellent and stretchy. You could leave the bum padding in if necessary, or remove it. About £25 I think.

I think Performance Equestrian do some waterproof riding tights that are similar to Musto Snugs which are far too long in the leg for me with the stirrups. I have two pairs of the Irideon Essential riding tights - weirdly, considering how thin they are, they are actually quite flattering...! I haven't tried the water resistant ones but I would based on my others.

Thank you. They are very warm and great when in a tearing hurry after work. Just resent paying out that much money to look quite so chavvy!!
