i was just wondering how many owners there are here who have had lammi prone horses and have gone successfully to barefoot?
stories appreciated, thanks
my mare is barefoot, and been lammi prone since 2 years old.
Might start to have her shod or wear boots as she will be doing lots more road work soon but shes been fine.
Have my little old childhood pony, many years ago she was shod but then retired and went barefoot before the cushings set in. So maybe that doesn't really count. But she gets by with careful management and the odd bute now and again.
interesting......
I'm not up to date with laminitic things. I do know a pony who looks pretty bad though. she struggles to walk. she doesnt sweat with pain though.
I guess its an xray that shows up the degree of rotation isnt it? is there any other way of gauging the rotation?
