Well although it has been cancelled, we are still heading up to Badminton this weekend, as we couldn't get a refund on our B + B. So does anyone in that area know of any really good tack shops where I can buy something to get my horsey shopping fix? (I had a huge shopping list!).

Failing that, anything interesting in the area that would be good to visit?

Yes there is Wadswick Country Store, bit of a drive towards Bath from Badminton but easy roads. They have a cafe too in case you need to stay there awhile :D If you are going that way you could also visit Bath, lots worth seeing there. Happy shopping! :)

I was going to say Wadswick as well at Corsham,

plus there's a small one up right by Bath Racecourse though can't remember what it's called.

Beyond horsey stuff I think Tetbury and Cirencester are nice to visit as well as Bath obviously though Cirencester is on quite a bit for you from Badminton. There's a lovely organic farm shop east of Cirencester with great cafe but again a bit of a drive.

Westonbirt Arboretum is lovely too for a walk, endless routes and very peaceful - cafe and shop there too - that's between Badminton and Tetbury.

Food wise this chain of 3 pubs is good - one near Box in Wilts, one on A46 south heading towards Bath and one at Burton in Wilts

The National Trust property Dyrham Park is on the A46 south heading towards Bath too and has lovely parkland, formal gardens and house.
