just wondered if any of you are carriage drivers?

Yes. We drive our pony. Very good exercise. Also use him as the yard "tractor".

But driving o the road these days is sometimes a heart in mouth experience - he's absolutely 110% but the drivers are sometimes w****. Had a few near misses.
 
oh tell me a bout it, the roads can be a nightmare
we have a transport yard and huge battery recycling place near to us and the lorries are a pain, i have to shut my eyes, never mind the horses

yep, horses and donkeys, we run a carriage hire business, weddings, private drives etc.

im backup groom & backstep for a disabled driver.

the roads scare me witless sometimes, i have managed on one occation to have the mud wiped off the heels of my boots by the bumper of the car behind

but its ok as i "accidentally" dropped the water bucket i have clipped by my feet onto his bonnet at speed

Me too..... we have two drivers at the mo, both hdt equines. Love the whole game and any driving I can get my paws on

Hi!! I started last year with my shetland. We learnt together and he is a real work horse in the field now as well as a pleasure to take out on the roads!!

Wish i started sooner!!
