As above. I have probably left it too late for this term, but just wondered if anyone knew of any still looking.

I want to put horse on loan, not a working livery. Ideally in the south-east region as I think most want you to take them home for the holidays.

Moulton are advertising, but that's Northampton.

Most colleges are always looking though tbh! Just ring up and have a chat with any local to you :)

Though, just something to bear in mind, they only ever seem to take full loan ones for ones which are anyone's rides and can get full use out of them....anything less than that, normally get put on reduced working livery.

eta - They do offer livery for holidays, as a different option for bringing them back home.

Lovely thanks, I will try them. He is anyone's ride in a school or menage, has done several years of PC attending rallies and camp, and he is nicely schooled (if I say so myself!).

The downside he is quirky to hack and is probably - no make that definitely - the worst horse in the world out hunting!

Have you tried Hadlow College in Kent?

http://www.hadlow.ac.uk/

They're pretty good, only a 10 minute hack away from me and when I was considering putting my boy on loan to them they were really helpful and showed me round the yard, explained the routine he would follow and all sorts. Worth a call if nothing else?

Brilliant - thanks for all your replies.

I will give a few a call - Sparsholt sounds ideal for my quirky hacker! He is great with traffic, will walk, trot and canter round a 20 acre stubble field without misbehaving, but if he sees another horse in front of him anywhere, he cannot abide it and has to catch up to overtake. Gets a bit tedious and hence my no hunting policy :)

Hacking is a rarity. At my old college, they used to go out once at the end of college term annually, for the last week with the 2nd years only....

From what I remember the first week of term and the last week, were a busy time for the air ambulance!!! :p

Stonar School might be worth a call.
The horses are pampered by students under the watchful eye of the yard managers. Your horse won't go without turnout unlike other establishments, and they have fantastic facilities.

3 people I have/do teach have just gone to Sparsholt (one private client and 2 from PC) and they haven't been told they will do any hacking at all. Just schoolwork and those that are good enough will do some XC.

You could try the following, although I think Plumpton have very limited or no turnout. I know they were looking for equines for loan.

Plumpton College, Plumpton, East Sussex
St Bedes, Nr Hailsham, East Sussex
Brinsbury College, Nr Chichester, West Sussex
Hadlow College, Kent

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
