Any cool horsey tips

Not sure its a cool tip.... but don't waste time changing rugs, why take a warm turnout rug off to replace it with a cold stable one? And a wet turnout will take days to dry anyway but if you leave it on the horse (once its in out of the rain) it'll be dry in a couple of hours.

My tip is ....

Never believe what the back of the feed bag says. Your horse does not need any where need the quantities the feed manufacturers state on the bags.

2nd tip is buy the very best quality hay you can, store it well and don't waste it.

shamelessly stealing from this very forum - Tesco/cheap furniture polish instead of mane/tail shine spray. waaaay cheaper and basically exactly the same stuff. only problem is that your horse smells of a coffee table.

Te he,

Tesco again - 99p extra firm hair gel, glues those plaits down a treat.

I carry those little spray cans of savlon disinfectant and their spray on Elastoplast in my car. Great for little nicks and cuts..human and equine.

Can't ever have enough sudocrem about either, put it on larger cuts and cover my grey's sheath in it in the summer to keep him fly free.

Bossy bibs to prevent rugs rubbing and promote hair regrowth, they are great.

Look on the stickie in stable, called Money saving tips. Lots of great tips there :p

Mine would be, furniture polish, sudocrem for everything! Make your own fly spray (saves lots of money and easy to do)
