My mare has two blind tushes in her upper jaw (tushes NOT wolf teeth) I know less than 28% of mares get tushes. Dentist said last august they are fine dont worry.
They under gum line and feel like a bony lump.
today noticed one on the left has erupted through the skin. Dentist is coming to yard on monday (he said not to see her til august again) so am thinking of getting him to take a quick look - not that i think he can actually do anything.
So heres two questions..... Does a mare with tushes mean a hormone imbalance and have they started to erupt as coming in season
and i presume you just leave them in? - they shouldnt cause any harm with bitting????
this isnt a youngster - she is 12 in july. I bought her last yr - not sure how long her canine has been erupted - she not one for letting you look in mouth well
