Hi, am thinking of buying some for my barefoot pony who is fine on hard rough ground but awful on tarmac or gravel. has anyone had any and how have you got on with them ?

No experience with those, when I was researching boots a year back I decided to go with Renegades. Was told to speak to Liz here: http://www.hoofbootique.co.uk/boots.html

she was very helpful and ive since bought some more for her hinds. Yes, expensive, but ive not looked back, no rubbing, stayed on through thick mud, excellent when on stone tracks (she gets very footy without)

Good luck

pony has very round feet and printing off all the measurements from hootboutique site only cavallo ones appear to fit his dimensions. he appears to have paws rather than hooves !

I've got some for my TB. I really like them, they seem very durable and my horse gets on with them fine. She has managed to throw one galloping one or twice

I find them very thick and clumpy. I think I might sell them on and go for renegades or easyboot glove wide

I haven't used them myself, but a good friend I regularly ride with has found them very successful. They're not too bulky, they stay put and they seem to survive pretty well.

I have Cavello Simple boots on my TB and I am very pleased with them. I do use gaffer tape around the velcro straps though. They also seem to be durable.

i think they were the ones i was looking at . I really liked the look of the easyboot glove ones but the just dont seem to be the right shape. he really doesnt do much that needs at the moment but if I get thin enough I want to start riding him which would involve more road work. but as would also involve not having eaten crisps and a pasty for lunch I probably dont need to rush !

I've tried most boots over the years. The cavallos are by far the easiest to put on.

They do rub the heels if the heel bulbs are prominent so not idea for hours of hacking. But perfect for a half hour whizz round the block.

If you're looking for a serious replacement for shoes and will be doing many miles then look at Gloves. You'll need to get the fit kit (the measured size never fits!) but they very rarely rub. I've just ordered the Back Country boots, which are Gloves with a trainer style top. My horse MEASURES at a size 3wide but after using the fit kit he's actually a 1.5!

I've had easyboot epics and got cavallos. Much prefer the cavallos and haven't found theyve rubbed at all and we cover serious mileage when we're driving (dont wear them to hack in cos my mare doesn't need them its only cos of the distances we drive that I havr them). Only*thing is the pastern wraps they come with don't go near my mares legs but she does have huge legs!

I've got some cavallos and put a pair of socks under them, never rubbed or moved and I've hacked for up to three hours with cantering. Get my vote and they come in pink- I wasn't allowed those for my gelding though boo!

How are you putting the wraps on? They should go round the hoof and heel and you do need to stretch them to fit. They come in sizes to fit the various boot sizes so should fit the hoof if the boot fits the hoof. I've had no problems with them and we've been hacking and schooling for up to 40 mins with no problems.
