My friend is looking at buying a new pony and asked me for help. She has found chamberlain sports horses and likes the look of one or two there but I was wondering if anyone had any experiences? Good or bad? I’m not on Facebook so can’t look at dodgy dealer pages as they are all private!

She was based not far from me but has moved to Ireland now I believe. Her ponies looks very smart and she presents herself in a very professional way. I’ve not heard any negative things about her.
I did once enquire about prices, and I was a little shocked at how expensive they are! However, this not necessarily a criticism, scopey ponies with good temperaments and conformation can fetch a lot of money.

I know someone who had a horse from them. Nice horse with a good nature and sound. Probably a bit greener than ideal for the rider but not nasty and nothing that couldn't be sorted with plenty of good lessons. They are now doing well at riding club competitions.

I would go with your eyes open as you would any potential purchase and remember that with dealers the horse is likely to be in regular work with a strong rider and will probably be fed quite minimally, so it may have rather a lot more energy when it is at home in a leisure home with less work and more feed.

A pony on our yard came from Olivia Chamberlain. She is a little green but a lovely temperament and plenty of potential.Honestly described. She has one at the moment I liked the look of for Izzy but even at 4 she's out of my price range.

My friend really likes the look of Lupin (so if anyone knows of similar ones in England that are potentially a bit cheaper..!!). They all look very well behaved and un-green for babies

He’s stunning isn’t he? She moved to Ireland recently and I know she sells all over but my friend wants to try before buying.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what she’s like when people come to try out? Friend says she’s been to some dealers that just don’t really entertain it
