I just wanted to share my first 'conversation' as I am becoming open to the possibility that I might actually be able to do it. (I'm currently studying shiatsu and have become really interested in energy and anything to do with it really.)
I stood quietly in my horse's stable, cleared my mind and listened. I heard nothing, I felt nothing. She started foraging around which is unlike her, she'll usually stand and look over the door, I really got the impression she was trying to avoid 'talking' to me. All of a sudden her brand (she is branded with the kwpn lion) caught my attention so I asked her did it hurt? I got a reply of "No and it doesn't define who I am either." I then felt she wanted some new likits in her tongue twister (there's not been any in there for at least 7 months as she's turned out 24/7). I asked her what flavour, I saw pink (cherry, probably the sweetest ones possible, lol). She then looked out over the door and 'said' "I don't like them, I want them to go." I followed her line of vision and saw a couple of geese in the field over the road. And that was it.
I'm not interested in critics or sarcasm, I am interested in genuine opinions on whether it is normal for it to be tricky to communicate at first or whether some horses just don't want to talk.
Thank you if you managed to read it all and any tips on how to make it easier next time will be greatly appreciated.
