OMG i am so gutted its un- believeable my poor baby boy who is only just 6 has just been diagnosed with the above and that might not be all .
Firstly in Jan had a jumping acc when he got his stride wronng and went through a jump , all begins from then .
He bumped his knee had slight swelling was treated by vet and after 4 weeks box rest and bute come sound till 7 weeks ago and went lame again.
On his front near leg too cut this shorter , xrays and nerve blocks showed changes in knee , and also changes in navic bone also which obv isnt too do with the acc he had apart from knee .
He has had corrective shoeing (heart bars ) bute and on a joint supp
Was box rested for 6 weeks , they went out in paddock again .
After 2 weeks being out now not on any bute , he is still not sound in front , but suddenly gone hopping lame behind on his near hind .
Esp when leg on outside on lunge .
Had nerve blocks which blocked 60% too hock. Now after hock xrays just this min got results and showing active bone spavin on both hocks worse on left hind (((

What will the future hold for us? , if any
So got so many issues going on , i cant believe it and sooooo gutted .

Do lots of research on his problems, don't just accept what the 'experts' tell you without understanding the ins and outs of it, become your own exprt. :-) TBH i'd do some research on taking him barefoot, its helped plenty of horses with navicular bone changes and spavins. Have a read, talk to some people and see if its for you?
((((hugs)))) for you though, its rotten when its all going wrong.

I am trying too do my own research thanks hun and thats why i have come on here after months just too hear other peoples experiences .
Thanks for your post yes nightmare at the min feels like nothing going right .

Next step the vet thinks is too inject his hocks ........

Definitely have a look at all the barefoot stuff that's going on. Suggestions would be the Rockley Farm website, 'Feet First' by Barker and Braithwaite, Pete Ramey, Jaime Jackson. Do your own research and don't necessarily think that your vet or farrier has the answers. Some are very receptive to barefoot and some are totally against it and almost refuse to look. You might also be better posting in the Vet section as your post will be visible for longer and you'll get people on there who have experience of these type of problem.

Mine was diagnosed with a chipped navic last yr when he was 6 aswell. He got an injection into the joint and didnt need bute etc!!! He seems to do better when hes exercised 5-6days a week although i no another one with navic and it does better when only rode 3 days a week so i think it realy depends on horse.
