I used the NAF EnerG individual syringe for a show this weekend and basically, it had no effect whatsoever!

Can anyone recommend an alternative??

We do need a syringe type booster as its for a show in a week so things like Redcell will probably not be in her system soon enough...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the shot thing a waste!

I'm afraid I've not found anything so far that gives a boost...let me know if you discover that magic something :)

Mollasses is what does it for my horse. Kicks in within a day or two. All I need is mollichaf and sugar beet and away we go.

Theres a few on the market....Nupafeed staying power, Equine America Xtra boost paste, Equimins B Energy Booster....

But I've not heard anything about them....

Ella - can't feed mollasses as horse is prone to tying up....had to email NAF before using the EnerG to check it was ok for her...

I thought those things would be a waste of time, I was thinking of using them for my lazy boy, glad I didnt! I can imagine them being like a can of red bull (which dont work for me :o )
My boy goes better with an extra cup of oats in his feed the night before, what feed is your's currently on??

She's on Saracen Re-leve plus Fibergy and supps - I can't mess about with her feed too much as she's on a very carefully managed diet to help with the azortoria....she definitely can't have oats or any high starch/sugar competition feeds...

To be honest, the syringe was only £4 so I wasn't going to break the bank giving it a try...and people have really rated the EnerG supplement that you feed continuously....but I was disappointed when it had no effect at all!

No Joke- I recently witnessed someone feeding their horse lucozade sport out of the sports bottle in the collecting ring -prior to starting the XC at Keysoe a few weeks back!:D

I don't find the single shot thingy works but the EnerG supplement in feed for 2 - 3 days before the show works very well indeed. You have to give it for a few days - but not for as long as redcell or propell which takes about 2 weeks.

RW1 :eek::eek::eek:

Shay - thanks so much for that...will definitely give the actual supplement a go then! So starting it 3 days before will be enough?
