hi, i am about to treat myself to a proper adjustable table for my salon. after 6 yrs working on a homemade bench its time to upgrade. i just cant choose between an electric or hydraulic. the one i want comes in both and the electric is only £50 more. i think the hydraulic would suit me best as its one less thing to plug in. but a groomer friend said there is more to go wrong with a hydraulic one.

any opinions greatly appreciated. thx!

I have hydraulic and it has worked well for 15 years.

My second hydraulic - I dumped the first which was centre lift when a heavy dog brought it over.

One less thing to plug in and get PAT tested!

I also use it as a lift next to the bath for big dogs which I wouldn't want to do with an electric lift.

personally, I prefer electric because the mechanism is much smoother - so that you don't get abrupt feeling stopping/starting. However, I've never actually used anything other than electric - so my feedback re hydraulic is purely from other folk that used them.

I have an electric one it's brilliant it goes low enough for the big dogs to jump up so no lifting :-) I tend to plug it in raise it to desired height then unplug it and hook the wire on the H bar safely out the way so I can work around the table worth every penny

thx everyone. i've gone for an electric one in the end as it is only £50 more. i'm so excited about it!! cant wait for it to arrive now. and of course, my dog will be the first one to try it out.
