Hi i have been riding for a 6 months now, had an interest in horse for about 2 years. I have just started learning to jump and hopefully by the summer i shall jumping with confidence. I dont own a horse of my own and would like to compete in some way either show jumping, x country or dressage and dont know how to go about it or if its possible without my own horse.

Most riding schools let you do shows on their horses if you're a regular there. Other option is getting a horse on loan or share

I will have to speak to them, the horse i ride is a 16.2 ID although he's a gent in the school and in the paddock. when out hacking he spooks easily and isnt competed. The problem i have is im 6'2" and 16 stone so finding a suitable horse is a problem.

On a rs I worked on we used to loan out the horses sutiable so people got the experance of owning a horse and you could compete the horse if you wanted to and I know there is a few places that do similar things.
