Any help on selling a horse?

Be honest and realistic, and use good photos and have back up photos/videso of the horse doing everything it's good at.

Good advert with at least one confo shot and one ridden (if appropriate). I don't like to see shots of horses eating their feed or sniffing dogs or with people draped over them and not being able to see the horse.

I then want to know age, sex and accurate height of horse, if it hacks alone and in company, if its good in traffic and what it has done, hacking, xc, sponsored rides etc. If it is suitable for a novice or a more experienced rider (although this is a matter of opinion!). I think, depending on the type of horse, its sometimes nice to know why horse is being sold, i.e moving onto a competition horse, pregnancy etc. Also if horse comes with any tack or rugs.

I would ensure the horse is shod/trimmed. Its amazing how many horses I have been to see where the owner is apologizing for state of feet - that makes me think what else has been neglected! If its a ridden horse have suitable, fitting tack available and someone available who can ride the horse before the viewer. If you don't have riding facilities try and find a venue that you can borrow or hire.

Stick to the facts, try not to give to much superfluous info as the potential purchaser won't be able to take it all in and finally don't be pushy and give the purchaser time to think about it as its a realy important decisions, suggest they give you a ring the next day after they have slept on it to tell you yay or nay.
