I'm hoping someone has a miracle answer!! We have a coloured pony whose white hocks have never been white!! They are always yellow & am sick of buying stuff that dunt work! I've tried every purple shampoo going, every shampoo for greys, washing up liquid, white paste, baby shampoo etc. & they are always still yellow!! It does help slightly that he is a lemon & white so the yellow kinda matches his coloured bits but I know its stains so its driving me nuts!! Any help would be hugely grateful!!! xx

We used to use fairy liquid on white socks the night before, leave to dry. Then use lots of chalk powder, and bandage it onto the legs. (Obv can't really do this with hocks!) Horse was kept in overnight, and then re-chalked and bandaged in the morning. Usually worked in with bandages on, and then rechalked, brushed out and hoof oil applied before going in the ring.

Shampoo the area first, and rinse. Dissolve three Steradent tablets in hot water and work well into area, leave to soak on for about 5 mins and then rinse thoroughly. Works wonders on my grey he has the whitest tail in the county !!!!

This sounds like a good plan, one I haven't tried! Shame I have only just come back from boots!
I have the same problem with my coloured, the one white hock is stained yellow. I have tried fairy, daz, cowboy magic, vinegar, to no avail. Am thinking about sterodent or net curtain whitener but as it's skin on a tail I am cautious it may cause a reaction on skin.
