Have a horrible feeling they are sacroids. He has had them for a about a year. The one above his eye is getting bigger. Any ideas what to do about them. I have never had a horse with sarcoids so don't know what they early stages are.

Hard to see on the pics but it looks like sarcoids and they are in the usual places you would expect to see them. Best get the vet to check them out as it might be something else. Sorry to be a bearer of bad news but once a horse has had sarcoids there is a high chance that they will return even if you decide to remove them. There are many anicdotal treatments for sarcoids but i have found the best treatment is the Liverpool cream but it is very expensive, you could try it on your insurance policy. No doubt others will give you advice on what gets rid of them and i am sure they have had success. If they are getting bigger i would consult the vet firstly and then you will be better placed to decide on a course of action and if they are indeed sarcoids. I have heard that there is something called blood root which people have had success with.

My mare has got something very similar to that just below her poll. She's had it for ever. It just looks like a bald patch with slightly wrinkled skin. Never weeps or crusts over, and had got marginally bigger in area over the last couple of years. Midges are attracted to it, presumably because it's hairless and therefore easier to bite.
