any ideas about how to clean my "strange" saddle?

I have two apg equine saddles, both of which have do not have a leather lining on the panels because they're both holistic saddles.

The linings are made from a sort of hairy material, which gets absolutely covered in my horse's hair.

does anyone know how i can clean the panels without ruining them?
The sweat flap also has this material on it.

I'm seriously tempted to take a lint roller to them to get rid of the unsightly ginger hairs. My other idea was to buy a soft shoe brush to try to brush them off.

It's probably serge use a brush or you could try the upholstery attachment of your hoover or the good old parcel tape

thought I'd check first before I attacked it with some tape
I have visions of me going at it and my saddle falling to bits haha
