Hi,

A couple of months back i had to sell my ex racer due to lack of time and job promotion, which means i hardly ever leave the office before 6.30pm during the week, I just didn't have the time he needed and i loved him too much to let him become a field/stable ornament.
However, i am now looking for some way to keep involved with horses other than buying my own again, i have gone to all my local horse charities and offered my help unpaid or otherwise and they all have declined my offer, im getting a little dispondent (not sure if thats spelt right), i would consider a share but i would assume that no one would want help at weekend's as this would be when they had the most time for their horses?
Has anyone any ideas, i so still want to be involved with horses they have been part of my life so so long and smelling nice all the time is a bit weird for me really

I would think a share could work for you, if you are honest about what commitment you could offer. TBH, many people would prob bite your hand off to have a lie-in on a saturday

Haha thanks thats made me smile, i might advertise myself for loan on some sites, i have my own car and can travel so i suppose that would help and i dont mind making a contribution either

Thanks

Hopefully the job promotion and no horse means you have a bit more money in your pocket ... so how about treating yourself to really good training lessons? by this I mean something like trying out side saddle, having private lessons on a proper dressage schoolmaster etc etc. That way, your skills will improve and you will still get your horsey fix. Dont know where you live but in the South-East, we have Oldencraig EQ on 1 side J5 M25 and Wellington if you travel into Hampshire.

If you could find someone with two or more that they need help with that could be great too, would mean they had some company for hacking etc

I would be grateful for some help even if was only on a Saturday! Even if it was just riding the Big Beastie, I think as long as you're honest then you'll find a horse to ride.

My hunt for a sharer is proving somewhat difficult.

I would put an add up seeing if anyone wants any help with their horses or for a share wanted.
Most people offering a share will share the weekend with their sharer as this is only fair as it's generally when people have more free time. Also it depends on people's situations, e.g. if they do shift work they may need someone to do weekends.

Just for Info am in the North West, Bolton/Bury way.

Those who know the area, Preston and Chorley are just a bit too far for me i am nearer Farnworth/Bury/Kearsley etc

Thanks

Have you tried New Rider website theres loadsa people from Manchester way looking for share, just been on to put my ad on there

Wishing you luck

Oh no sounds like you've had a rough time, i remember when a girl on the yard i had mine was looking for a sharer she had the same problem.
People who couldn't afford a horse and had just got into riding wanted to share him and he was an ex racer totally different kettle of fish to the usual ploddy riding school horse.
Don't think some people understand whats involved which can be a bit frustrating

Thats so nice to read and see that just by posting someone may get a positive result. Hope something works out for you!!!!!!!!!
