So basically I've been hunting in my tweed up till the season just gone, I'm 21 now so really need to get myself into a proper hunt coat and parents have agreed to split the cost.. woop!!

My problem is I'm fairly petite, I'm 5'5 but a tad under 7 stone and a size 4/6. My current tweeds are all maids 28"!

I cannot seem to find anywhere that sells hunt coats smaller than a 32/34! I really want a proper lined warm heavyweight hunt coat, so not to keen on just buying a standard childs show jacket, also they all seem to have velvet collars which arent correct!

Anyone have any ideas? I'm really hoping I don't have to go down the made to measure route.. I'm not sure I could afford it as I'm guessing it would be £600+

There must be other skinny/petite people out there who have hunt coats!

Thanks!

Try a phone call to Lynn Russell. She sourced some very slim legged brown boots for us years ago. It's a long shot but worth the price of a phone call.

Have you tried the usual places - Calcutt & sons, Field & Country etc? Ebay? There's a sporting goods dealer on ebay called hogspear and he has some lovely traditional kit - older hunting kit is often smaller than modern stuff

I think £600 is a conservative estimate - long time since I had something mtm but I fear you'd be looking at least 3x that for a Frank Hall :) mind you, it would last your lifetime so a good investment!

Thanks for the suggestions will give Lynn russell a call!

I've been keeping an avid eye on ebay, and have been reguarly checking field and country and foxyattire!

Eek yes I fear M2M may be way out of my budget, we were thinking of spending up to £600. Do you think altering an off the peg 32 would be manageable or would it be too much fabric to take away?

Alexander James is not too expensive I think. Mine is heavy wool but with a satin lining and was made to measure around £15 years ago, but think it was fairly reasonable.

undertheweather that looks great size wise but I'm preferably looking for a navy one (fashion winning out I know)!

Legaldancer will def check out AJ, I think their stand is normally out at the shows over the summer so will try to pop in and see them!
