Any ideas guys??

I was grooming my boy today and thourght he'd be lay in poo again as he always does, so proceeded to brush it off. However as i did this he was clearly in pain, he looked like he was trying to sit down on his back end (hope you know what i mean) ears were back and it was sore for him. The area which was not a poo stain is infact a patch of darker colour than usual, it is above his back leg and at the top of his leg, theres alao a smaill patch on his belly. It is slightly raised. I was thinking fly bite but dont understand the colour difference?
He has not had any different feed and nothing else has changed.

Ideas???

Poor lad, not a clue tbh, perhaps a bruise? is he stabled at night, could he have gotten cast during the night and bruised himself doing so?only thing i can think of really

Yes we were thinking this too, only reason im not convinced is because he had a stable rug on so abit of protection, and also the hair is smooth not ruffled which id of guessed it would be if he'd been cast. If it is no better in a few days il get the vet. He was feeling very sorry for himself tho.

Is he out in the day? Maybe hes been kicked by another horse and they are bruises with the patch on his belly being one hoofmark and the one at the top of his leg another hoofmark.
