This is Magic, she's a 9yr old 15.3hh mare and her passport just says "horse" for her breeding! Just wondering if anyone might have some suggestions as to her breeding? She's very sweet and laidback, enjoys jumping but I wouldn't say she's a specialist. She's a great first horse for her very tall 15year old owner!

Dont you just love passports that say "horse" well if that isnt stating the obvious i dont know what is lol!
Id agree with lily1 & say there is some Welsh in there, though she could even be pure welsh D, sometimes the big ones loose some of their Welshness..if you know what i mean? Can you not trace her back to her old owners, they may be able to shed some light on her breeding for you.

yeah "horse" isnt exactly helpfull! Welsh never really occurred to me. I just assumed she was too big, but if 15.3hh is an accepted size then welsh would actually tick a lot of boxes! She came from a dealer as far as I know and her passport doesnt have any other owners address on it. We could try the dealer and see if they can even tell us roughly where she came from.

Yes, I thought Welsh section D too. Have a check of your saddle though. It may be the photograph, but it looks as though it is slightly high in front (not on the horizontal), which would indicate it is a bit narrow. May be wrong though, but always feel obligated to mention these things. Hope you don't mind!

She looks exactly like a Welsh D x Trotter that I know. Same colouring and everything! He's also 15.3, but 17 yrs old.
