Okay a long shot but how can i stop my running round the field when he gets upset. He is next to other horses and does have a friend sometimes but that is not a the moment as avoiding the pony (which is his mate) going on the nice grass as not to get to fat. My boy goes out next to his field mate but he just runs around when he wants to and today he has lost a shoe (goes out in over reach boots) Any other ideas please. Can you get mirrors for the field? he is on magic calmer as well but not made a lot of difference in the field. I really cant leave him in the stable thats just not right. Thanks.

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do. Horses are herd animals and form strong attachements. If it is just a matter of grass and not eating too much, would it be possible to section some of the field his pal is in and strip graze.

This time of year with the files driving them mad, they need to be near other horses. Would the other owner be prepared to put her horse in with yours?
