I was thinking about some sort of ground cover for part the outside school to try and protect it from the ice and snow to enable more use during this weather. Has anyone tried anything or do you have any ideas?
Thanks.

Someone on the BD forum has laid a 2 metre track around hers with builders polythene, you need two people to fold it between uses but the snow just slides off. I reckon bubble wrap would be equally good and less than £50 for a 100 metre roll.

Many thanks for the ideas.
Swimming pool cover too expensive.
Fleece cover, polythene and bubblewrap being looked into now.
Jayde87, it is Christmas so you never know ;)

Thanks.

I used to work at a yard where we used tarpaulin, however it is very heavy, very time consuming and not very effective in a total downpour. In the end we used it just to cover the track, helped a bit.

We did make a cover for our 20 x 40 sand school a few years ago. We brought siledge plastic sheets. Brought on rolls from a farming shop.
We covered ours because the drainage became very bad.
It worked really well, but was rather heavy to fold up. We also had to put tyres over it to stop the wind blowing it away!

You have to allow 15 mins for 2 people to get the cover off before use.

Go for it!
