Ive been looking all over the internet to find breeches that go up too 48 inch waist and a riding boot that goes up to 21 inches width calf (52cm). Any ideas would be great! thank you :)

Maybe try fuller fillies or 16 plus rider, I had to order some bigger called wellies as I like to wear a few layers plus lots of welly warmers song or some of the plus size wellies from 16 plus rider and was pleased with there service!

But not ballet.

Actually it would really help with the weight as (both) ballet (and rowing...) are good for strength without huge muscle mass.

OP you need to think more like a cox or a lightweight than whatever kind of rower you are currently.

I am sorry.......... but if someone is finding it hard to find big enough clothes to enable them to persue a hobby, then perhaps that is not the hobby for you, especially when an animal is going to have to carry the person. I suggest Shot Put as an alternative.

justabob and Hippona - there are ways and means of saying things. Don't be so damn rude and nasty. I hope you are both aware you sound like stuck up school children, and your comments say more about yourselves than the OP.

I have wide calfs but small ankles and just had some lovely made to measure boots made for me by Equitector. I tend to just ride in my thicker leggings or jeggings these days.
And please ignore all the negative comments, some people are just downright cruel!

I wasn't rude at all.

Even Fuller Fillies don't make clothes that large....for a perfectly valid reason.

And what has weight got to do with size?

Again, no offense...but if you have a 48" waist you're not going to be a lightweight.

And most riding schools have an upper limit of 14/16 st anyway, I guess that's just being nasty too eh?

why does some people have to turn every post in to a weight bashing thread ?? I thought we got this out of our system awhile ago ???

I highly doubt riding schools would come back with comments like yours.

FWIW, I too think the OP should lose at least three stone before getting on a horse, however there is no need to be snide about it.

Blatantly sexist. There are some huge men out hunting, they may have bandy legs but they must weigh 20 stone and they are carried for at least four hours if they have only one horse. As muscle is more dense than fat tissue the fitter you are the more you a likely to weigh in relation to your total mass. I fed up with women giving other women a kicking but will blithely ignore the size of male show jumpers who are out competing every week, it would be fun if they had to declare their weights like jockeys.
The top weight carried to win the Grand National is 11stone 5lbs, and it had to run 4 miles and jump 30 fences and I think most of these men looked or were slim but the minimum weight is 10 stone

If we give any one a hard time for being above a certain weight lets spread the joy equally amongst the sexes, but most men wouldn't give a xxx

Ridiculous to compare fit athletes like show jumpers and jockeys to overweight people who want to ride at a weight of 19 stone. I also do not like to see 20 stone men hunting all day, just because they are doing it does not make it right. Nor do I like to see people shooting that can not shoot, just because they can. So yes I get peeved with people that ask stupid questions on here that should not sit on a horse until they are at a weight that a horse can comfortably carry. If you find me rude, well so be it, but I can assure you I would never be rude to an animal.

Ah, that's okay then. Sod everyone else :)

Getting your knickers in a twist about someone being rude on the internet?

From someone who on another thread has just told a person that's worried about getting sued that she's making a mountain out of a molehill, I find that quite hilarious. Get a grip love.

Hear hear justabob, maybe OP is a troll, ignore me had a few vodkas, OP can i ask what type of horse you ride, by the way i have put on 7kgs in the last 4 years which makes me 67kgs and i feel so guilty riding my, since remeasured 15.2 hand cob, i bought a treeless saddle only weighs 4kgs, but thats just me cos i love him so much
