Any ideas????

i have my pony on box rest and trying to keep weight off so instead of restricting amount of hay my vet advised me to soak for 24 hours to get rid of all nutrients and then can feed as much as want, he has it from his hay bar and will much away for hours, touch wood keeping weight off really nicely

you could try scattering it all around the stable, so he has to move around abit....ummm apart from that i cant really think of anything, sorry

Or if you don't have a haybar what about just in a huge trug? Or if he's out in the field, someone on the forum posted about a neat pvc field hay feeder. Imagine a ginormous tub trug with a small lid held in the air about 2 foot above it. Can't remember what on earth it was called but if you can't find the post you could put another one on asking for a repeat of the info.

Could you tie a haynet to a ring really low down - so long as the holes of the haynet are very small and there are no bits of string for your horse to get a foot in?

I saw something advertised on the net last week.It was a big dustbin full of hay with a weight on top like brick cross as they pull the hay from the edges the weight holds the rest of the hay in place effectively trickle feeding. It came up when I was looking for haybars or field accessories.Ill try and find it.
