My oldest Weimeraner (11) recently (this week) started weeing and pooing in the house, he's fine if the door is left open but if its not then it's like he can't hold himself and does it where ever he is. sorry for all the detail, but when he does it it is very runny and almost gloopy and yesterday and wednesday had increasing amounts of blood in.
He has been to the vets (yesterday) and has been given antibiotics in the hope he's picked up an infection and a probiotic and had urine tests which just showed it was very diluted (he has been drinking a lot as well recently) but nothing else, so today he has been back and had blood tests which we are awaiting the results for.
Does anyone have any ideas what this is likely to be or could it just be old age? I know it could be probably anything but just wondered if anyone had any ideas?
Thanks

(His food hasn't been changed in over 6 months and he has Skinners Field and Trial Duck and Rice)

Could he have eaten something that has disagreed with him out walking? Older dogs can have more sensitive tummies, so things they would have eaten with no problems in their younger days can make them poorly.

Hope he feels better soon.

Hopefully is just some kind of Gastrointestinal problem. Other than that it could be kidney related. Have his gums got a good colour?

Thanks for the replies
His blood tests have come back ok, slightly low in protein but that could be due to the excessive weeing. liver and kidney function seems to be ok. so we have to finish the antibiotics this week then see how he is and take it from there. he does seem better but still isn't right
