Before i start details are a little vague...sorry
I dont know if anyone has any ideas, its for a friends horse.
The horse is tb mare around 12 years old.
The mare has never come into season properly, and has been given various treatments for it,but it has never really affected the horse.
Just recently the horses muscles have become very pronunced, especially around the withers area and head. The blood tests she has had done have so far all come back all clear.Sometimes the mare is showing signs of being uncomfy, other times not.
Has anyone got any ideas,as vets etc are all at a lose

Can only ask more questions, sorry!
How long has the owner had the horse?
How does the owner know that the mare has never come into season properly?
What treatments were given and why?
What bloods were done?
Were hormone levels checked?
Was the vet called because the mare was uncomfortable or just because she has muscled up?
Where exactly has she muscled up? (not many muscles in the wither area!)
Has she muscled up or lost fat which would accentuate her normal muscles?
Uncomfortable how?

It could be a number of things, some of which are very rare so very probably unlikely. Some of them so obvious that they get missed - or the vet is too polite to say anything.
