heres a few pics of millies leg (see post below) as you can see you cant really see any swelling head on so to speak, and its hard to show it really its just swelled out below the knee to about halfway down the leg before her fetloock. its not like a lump if you know what i mean its spread out.

so any ideas of what it could be from these photos?

Could be that she's knocked it, Id cold hose it and bandage it for the night and see how it goes. If shes not lame, I wouldnt worry about it till Monday and if no diff, Id call the vet. Mairi.

thanks thats kind of what im thinking, there have been many people believe it is a ligament in the new lounge.

i shall not be able to get at the vets until monday anyway, i shall keep everyone posted.

looks imilar to what my boy had, he wasn't lame. I think he got kicked by the small pony with no shoes. I cold hosed and turned out and then worked away when advised by the vet and it has gone now.

bet you its just a knock and in a few days time you will find a teensy scab in the area.

Try not to panic - if it was a ligament or tendon strain with that much swelling it would be sore to the touch and ought to compromise her way of going.

I would cold hose and see how it goes.

thanks it is fine now, i rode her yesterday and today and nothing has reappeared!! i think i paniced unneccessarily!
