Does anyone hunt anywhere in the East Anglia region?
Cambs, North Essex, West Norfolk/Suffolk?

I'm hoping to take the boy out, but even though he's hunted loads with his previous owner, I never have!!

Just wondering if anyone has any reccomendations or advice on hunts in the area??,
Also how to go about going to a meet, who to contact etc??

Also, has it been affected by F&M or Blue Tongue?

sorry for the barrage of questions...feel free to PM!!

thanks!

Well, if this helps I am in the Woodland Pytchley, and we are not hunting at the present, due to F&M but the Oakley are, they are too far away for you I guess.

I know for sure the Fitzwilliam went out from our village, which is Titchmarsh in Northants, bordering on the Cambridgeshire border, near the A14. They went cubbing approx four weeks ago.

Sorry can't be of more use.

Hi.

http://www.mfha.org.uk/index.php?option=com_directorysearch&Itemid=49

If you copy and paste this link you can choose your region and see what fox hunting packs are in your region. Give the secretary a call and see when they are starting again.

Perhaps they can recommend a quiet meet for your first time, in the week maybe rather than a weekend as not so many people? They can also give you some pointers on what to expect/wear etc.

As a newbie to hunting I think I gained a lot by going on foot first of all - you can see what goes on without worrying what your horse is doing lol.

Hope this helps - sorry, can't be more specific on the hunts in your area.

Good luck!

No advie on the area...but enjoy...if you decide you want to try him in the hackamore let me know, but think you will be fine as normal... :o)

North Essex would be the Essex or East Essex me thinks, they are both not out at the mo, although from today it could all change. Depends on the pack! As someone else has said, give the sec of the nearest pack a call. I'm the hon sec of the Essex Farmers and Union, we hunt basically from chelmsford to the coast (maldon way) we're not out yet but hopefully will be soon.

East anglian bloodhounds have their own website. i dont have the link though. just do a search and its easy to find. i have heard that they are great fun and very welcoming. they are based in suffolk
