I used to be a vet. We were always immensely happy when anyone came in who had PetPlan, but that was 10 years ago.

now, I use NFU for everything... Can't beat their service, but I don't have a dog insured, so not sure if they do that

More than - cannot recommend them highly enough (not sure they would recommend Bumble Dog though, she must be one of their biggest losses in the last 12 months!)

Before even considering E&L talk to your vet, most will insist on payment up front if insured with them - need I say more!

I'm with M&S but the payments have risen massively in the past 2 years for boxer and 2 cats. I'm also looking to change so will definitely look at More Than.

I've been with Direct Line prior to M&S and never had any problems with either paying out for claims.

I have used DBI for Third party insurance for my dogs for more years than I care to remember!!!
3rd party is vital for any dog owner, esp now when you can be sued coz your dog looked at someone

Instead of paying money to ins co. for vet ins... put the money you would be paying to one, into a savings account.... I have always had cash left at the end of the year... and usually have earned lots of interest too!!!!!
This pays - especially if you have several dogs, as you get more interest!!!

I have tried most ins co over the years, and never found a good one for vet fees.... too many exclusions just when you need them!

I am with petplan for both my pups, my horse is also insured with them. Luckily never had to test them out though. Petplan do 10 months for 12, so that helped hook me! x

Mine are with Tesco !!

They were really good when my pup died in December - i had only been insured for a month with them and they paid out over £1000 !! (insurance was £4.50 a month)

I think Petplan though more expensive are good and will cover for the life of the illness a lot will only cover for the first 12 months x

M&S all the way! Were brilliant when I claimed for tooth abcess. Dog had tooth removed and another that was decayed, and also a clean and polish. M&S paid up for the lot! Even though dental work is not usually covered! Was really really pleased with thier service
