so i have 2 horses needing hair cuts, the first is a wee conn x mare, i started by taking strands backcombing and cutting, she didnt like the pulling, but am unsure as to what the end result should look like? i wanted a nice show jumpers mane but do u keep thier head up while u do it or down?
2nd horse is highland x, total bog brush mane! v long, near top its half n half, so do i cut it all off n start again, or comb back n cutting, he also does not like pulling tried tonight after ride, advice please and thankyou xx

I'd be tempted to try sedaline then pull if it's long and thick.... never had a horse that disliked it though (they all seem to like it, even the sensitive ones?! Maybe I'm just lucky! :p)
Otherwise I did Danny's the other day by just cutting upwards into the mane until it was the length I wanted, as someone else on here suggested, and it looks ok :D But I think it only worked as his mane is very thin anyway (only reason I cut it rather than pulling!)

I keep their heads up/wither height and then get someone to flex their necks so I can see how they look when they hold themselves as if being ridden just every so often :) Works for me!
