I have read two of his books so far, Horses Never Lie and A Good Horse is Never a Bad Colour. I find his stories thought provoking and I can really see where he's coming from. He seems like a very modest man who isn't in it for the money or publicity unlike some other people I can think of.
He has really made me re think my relationship with my horse and how I handle things with her. I think that sometimes we do get so caught up in competing and winning that we forget about how our horse feels and how we're treating them.
What are your thoughts and opinions?

I have just bought those two from Amazon and am about half way through Horses never Lie. I am really enjoying it - gives another perspective to think about. Thumbs up from me!!

He is superb. The books are good but when he's back in the UK try to make it to one of his Clinics. Unbelievable. And as OP says such a modest guy unlike many.

I did a post on this the other day, I really love his books and currently reading them all again, he's got a new book coming out in october that you can buy off amazon xx

I loved A Good Horse is Never a Bad Colour.

His other books were good too.

His main horse (I forget the name) who was featured in most of his books and taught him so much, when I found out he had finally passed away - I cried buckets in the bathroom!

Hubby came running up to find out what the hell was wrong with me:p

I think he's brilliant :) A real, genuine, no bull-poo horseman.

I'm very lucky - our instructor has trained with him a lot and her whole ethos and approach to horses (and people) is very similar.

I will definately try and make it to one of his clinics when he comes over. I really do think that he makes you think about things in a different way and makes total sense. Thumbs up for Mr Rashid!

Oh yes, he's an inspirational horseman. I've been going to watch him since he first started coming to the UK. In the days when about 15 people would turn up to watch and put their chairs at one end of the arena. I'm going to the second clinic in May (even if I have to auction a kidney!).

Another fan here. Went to a clinic and he sorted everyone from a bolshy cob, a bucking horse to a lady doing one-time changes on her dressage horse. Some cowboy!

Would recommend his DVD on footfall, so you can time the aids correctly.

Yes fantasic person oh and if you like him there is another realy intresting horseman called Buck Brannaman, there was a film made about him last year, looks well worth watching... anyone know where to get a copy????

Hooves Equestrian I think have copies of the DVD on sale and the film is due to come to UK in April. I haven't seen Mark Rashid at a clinic but really enjoyed his books - remind me to slow down, look and stop thinking like a time-delimited and narrow-minded humanoid!!

Steve Halfpenny from Silversand Horsemanship is very similar in style to Buck Brannaman. I brought my Buck DVD from the Eclectic Horseman, is US format.

Thanks I will phone Jim...

I read Horses Never Lie and it completely changed my perspective on how I treated my horse. I was really struggling with him and I found the book was a godsend. It was so clear, readable and easy to understand, and I felt like 'ah, NOW I understand what to do.' It suddenly all made sense, and now I have a super relationship with my horse, we have loads of fun... though I'm a lot more into having adventures with my horse than I am into competing now...
I would love to go and see him, shame he isn't coming to the north east!

Noblesteed, I'd say just travel and go see him, book into a cheap B+B and enjoy the trip. You never know when these people will be back, and he's really, really worth seeing.

Another fan here! Read Horses Never Lie and thought it was a fantastic book and so easy to read! Ordered the rest of his books to read now! Would love to go see him in May but it's a bit of a journey and don't think OH will be happy paying £40 to accompany me on more horsey shows (although I'm persuading him that we could have a nice weekend away with the dog and I'll stop by for the clinic!)

I'm thinking of travelling up to see him in May. I'm now reading my way through Considering the Horse. He really does get you thinking differently doesn't he.

I'll be going down from Kent, it's not that far really and it's not like he can spend months over here covering every county. :-)
My friends the Halfpennys come to the UK twice a year from Australia. They think we're really funny when we moan about clinics being too far away. Where they come from people think nothing of making a journey of 9 hours or so to see something interesting. One of their students comes to an annual clinic with them from Kangaroo Island - with two horses, a trip that includes a trip on a ferry.
