Possibly moving to that area due to a permenent job for my OH , I know its very horsey but Im concerned about how expensive it appears to be. Having 3 horses means conventional livery wont be an option.

Does anyone know mcuh about renting property with land or renting fields from farmers etc? Im told DIY isnt an option on the most part due to the popularity of it so wondering if a neighbouring county would be better

thanks in advance

I have just left my job in North Ox, very sad to move out, but I've just opened my own yard in Glos.

I would go for livery in Glos, much cheaper and more options that in North Ox... PM me if you'd like the names of some good yards (and the ones to avoid!)

Hiya thanks

No idea on how much but I know that when I told OH that one livery was £55 a week per horse for DIY he passed out and had to be revived!

We could manage with 2 stables or something we can make into stables but ideally 3 and anything 2 -6 acres I have no idea what renting something like that would cost there

Here in the midlands its around £1500 for a 4 bed house, 3 stables and 3 acres but wed be happy with a small cottage, i dont know if it would be possibly to find something like that in the oxfordshire area. Or even south Warks. OH wont entertain northants as he hates it. Gloucs never thought about that side

Starzaan Ill pm you :D

Hi, I used to live in west oxon and was on a yard in charlbury at around £140 a month DIY. Thats only 7 miles from chipping norton and the village is gorgeous - I miss it lots. The yard had the best hacking I have ever known. Not sure how much space they have at present but why not drop in or call them - its baywell eventing but dont let that you put you off as there is a great mix of people from happy hackers to eventers! There are a few other yards in the area, one of which is about £70 a month but no school.

also worth posting a message on the forums if you are looking for somewhere to rent - there is one for charlbury and chipping norton. There really are lots of places which offer stables and grazing but you might not get a school included within these. Also if you pop along to the witney or chipping norton countrywide stores there have notice boards which may be able to offer something.
