I'm currently doing an equine nutrition uni assignment and I'm mega confused and I can't get hold of my tutor!!

Basically, we've done our own proximate analysis testing on a feed of our choice, and we're comparing them to the values published by the company. Obviously it's been easy to compare the digestible energy published to the energy count I got... the nitrogen count to the published protein amount........... But!

What published values compare to the following values I've got:
dry matter content
ash content
water soluble carbohydrate content

Help!!!! :)

Ash values should be found on the bag labels. Water soluble carbs would be total of sugar and starch - some feedcompanies publish the sugar/starch levels and some don't.

Ah ok I don't have acsess to a bag so that would explain why I can't find the ash levels! Have found the starch level but not sugar, perhaps I will send them an email. Thank you
