My RS is doing a camp for the little 'uns next week - I will definitely be there to help out, looks like it's going to be good fun.

There's going to be a mini 3-day event and everything! That's not an official Pony Club camp though, just something the RS have organised. Sooo jealous of the children going!

I'm going with my son to a certain showground in Lincs next week as he's a junior. Would it be the same one? I could spy for you!

From what I remember they were an absolute hoot

. The instruction was excellent (I can still remember bits of it lol). Riding for what seemed like all day, meeting lots of different people, learning all sorts of new ways of doin things/different approaches. Was excellent.

Was going to send daughter this year, but got side-tracked and is now too late

She can go next year

.

yes the very same showground.she cant wait to get there and knows a few girls her age.she did tell me some girls got drunk last year but told me she wouldnt.!!!!!

My daughter went for several years, both she and the pony always came back with bags of confidence, doing beach rides, polo, xc, night orienteering. Disco's.

Funnily enough she said only this week she wishes she was going to camp this year, sadly she is now a grown up and has to go to work!

thats what i told my mum

no im sure she'll be fine.. in our camp its a tradition to get drunk on the last night, but were moving that to most nights now
grin.gif

i hope she has a great time!

I used to go to the same camp when I was a teenager & it was great. We didn't get drunk though - the worst we did was run the DC's knickers up the flag pole!
The juniors are with their mums at the other end of the showground from the seniors, but we have to venture down there last thing at night to the shower block. It was pretty wild as you might imagine - they don't get a lot of sleep!
She'll have some of the best days of her life, don't worry as there are plenty of adults around if needed.

My son went to his at the beginning of July (we have different holiday times over here) and he had a ball (quite a few small boys in Cavan PC thank goodness). They come away with huge confidence and very smelly

I was helping for the 5 days so I came away completely knackered and very smelly

Oh I miss PC camp!
Daughter used to go of course, but so did I (Instructor, Secretary and general dogsbody) I did PC camp with the Axe Vale every year from the age of 10, loved every minute of it.

E is off on Leadership camp tomorrow for a fortnight, lots of riding and adventure training etc. A bit different from PC camp as it isn't entirely horse orientated, but then neither is she nowadays. http://www.circlerranch.ca/
The only thing that she is not looking forwards to is the ban on gadgets, no iphones, computers etc allowed

Hi debsflo

You know me already and B will be fine with T and A and B etc.

Yes they get a bit wild and 'elf n safety would have a fit - but they have good old fashioned FUN!

They will be fine.

Has Mrs G bagged you to sleep in one night yet? I am sleeping in on Saturday with BR's mum after we've run the disco!

See you tomorrow and quit worrying - they will have a ball.

And, yes they do run the DC's knickers up the flagpole!!!!!!!
