I am looking at a two year old RID s/he is to make 15.3- 16-hh. I would like to see some others at the same age by way of comparison, - has anyone got any photos they would
upload?
Can you give height at two and adult height, and also Sire.
Thanks folks

I've had 3 ID fillies all have graded RID on inspection. As a rule of thumb they have been about 15.2 at 2years to mature at 16.2hh. Each have had different RID sires. Can email pics if you pm with your email add but can't upload on here. There's a few youngsters on the IDHS(GB) website at the mo may be 2year olds on there. Weren't you looking for something a bit older? My neighbour has been to see a partbred 5 year old by Bridgeford Ferryman and I believe the sellers also have a chestnut 4year old partbred by the same stallion for sale (in South Yorks).

Dont be fooled by pure breds i have one thats totally off his head most of the time and not at all laid back as they supposed to be, But i wouldnt swap him for the world

when i was at college there was one that was a total nightmare and just bolted off all the time and it was quite amusing watching them gallop around untill the horse decided to stop as there was no way it was going to be taking any notice ot whatever bit it had in its mouth

Please richie_is_a_loonie, I am not a complete moron!!!!

Horses will be horses whatever the breed but the TB blood generally make the animal that bit faster/sharper when it does behave like a horse! and me being older than I prefer, am not quite as a quick as I used to be.
I do not need the great equine athlete that the TB blood can impart into the make up.
I quite a sure an ID can buck and bolt like any horse by generally they are less flighty, like many draught breeds are and no so quick off the mark.

I do not want a fizzy, sparky horse so no TB,WB,Hackney, Welshy blood required thank you

wasnt meaning you a moron just saying my purebred irish draught is worse than any thoroughbred,wb,hackney or welsh i have ever come across. So dont be fooled

Thats ok! only meant it lightly - but its genes and environment in the end that makes up the personality.
Is yours a purebred ID, cos if so I think its not really the norm for those types.
Is there some problem with him/her pain or age related or started badly or some particular cause you have not addressed or considered yet?
Behavioural problems are pretty much always man-made.

Then I'd respectfully suggest he has a problem - either his early training - or current pain. Some ID's are sharper than others, but good temperament is VERY much a breed trait. And I have a lot of them, and have backed and schooled quite a few!

I have one old gelding (my first purebred) and he can fizz up a bit out hunting - but the worst he does is canter on the spot! And he can be a bit spooky too. But he was gelded late, shown young (before I got him) and put in a double bridle too soon - and his former owner was scared witless of him - so he didn't have much chance to become as laidback as he should have been. But he's still an easy ride (if you like bouncy!

yes he has problems (lots of them) when i went to see him as a 5 month old he turned twice and tried to double barrel me which strange enough made me think he had caracter. Problems started i think when he was 3 weeks old and his mum died. He has all the traits of somebody high spec autistic ie hates physical contact(brushing, stroking or just touching), He has major panick attacks when anything changes ie moving stables or being tied anywhere other than his ring, he is very bolshy from ground but fine ridden. I had a horse whisperer to him that at end of session said he would only come back if i did the handling and if i had to get rid for any reason he would only be fit for glue factory ( i never got him back again)
