any one used scottish equestrian insurance

I have used them for 6 years for horse, trailer and pony. Only 1 claim, which was dealt with quickly, and paid direct to vet. The person I spoke to on the phone was not only real (i.e. not recorded message), but polite, friendly and knowlegable. (Oh, and Scottish, so presumably before they moved - I think it was a Glasgow office).

Scottish people do live down south! I know 2 Scottish people that worked for SEIS when they moved south

I am with them with my youngster. I have 2 horses insured with petplan and 1 with scottish equestrian. Scottish equestrian were considerabley cheaper for comparable cover and i was sick of petplan after the drama i had getting money out of them when my previous youngster broke his back and was pts. I did get my money eventually from petplan but that was my reason for moving. I had noticed the 2 companies had the same underwriters but i didnt realise that petplan actually owned them till i read this. I havent made a claim yet as only had the policy a matter of months.

SEIS is run out of the same office. Same claims assessors, same underwriters - its just the policies they assess your claim under are different

Tbh it was because they had the same underwritters as petplan and my vets strongly recommend petplan but after my petplan experiance i couldnt bear to pay them more for the same policy i could get with seis. I pay £34 a month to insure my colt for £3000 with seis whilst i pay £40 a month to insure my mare for £1000 with petplan on a comparable policy! big difference!
