Im trying to be prepared this winter! (while I have money)

Im swaying towards Five star but here are the few ive looked at. Last winter I used Verdo but I didn't pay the extra VAT and used the fuel type, I *think* that the only difference is the VAT?
Verdo showed me pellets work for me but I found they discoloured quickly.

Five star £252.00
LWP £250.00
Corley £245.00
Justwood £238

The second two I checked out of interest- Cant afford 5*'s more expensive type so its out of the above.

Thoughts please?

another for 5 *
I did go for the more expensive ones but ended up using 1/2 the amount with all horses/ponies, so it was still cheaper (ponies went to 1/2 a bag a week, wet horse went to 2 bags and gelding went to 1 bag from 2). I may try their professional this winter for 1st pallet and see how they are as well

Another vote for 5 star, I tried both these and LWP towards the end of last winter and the 5* were far better. I think they all vary though, must depend on the trees in each bag or something! I have just bought a pallet of 5* to be prepared... hope they last most of winter!

I use Agripellets miscanthus fuel pellets - although they are a bit dearer I find them more absorbent and a sort of softer bed. I also like the fact that I can add them to the bed dry. Wouldn't go back to wood now.

Wood pellets definitely 5 star.

Straw pellets - i used pelletbeds both their pure and premium range, both very absorbent but are dark coloured
