This something i havent mentioned to my instructor - and my instructor hasnt mentioned to me despite being and international dressage judge, but, the past year or so i have felt ever so 'wonky' riding its painful - and cant be doing my horses a fat lot of good i imagine. The only way i can describe it is feeling straight when I fisrt get on. After a while my left leg feels longer with less weight in it then my right leg which feels like i have a shorter stirrup but more weight in it - so much so after a while im getting terrible calf and ankle pain in my right leg when riding but both my seatbones feel even? The uneveness must be coming from somewhere to cause this but im at a loss to know what to do to fix it when my 'shorter leg' feels as if it has more weight in than the 'longer one' - surely it should be the other way round!

Since i broke my foot very badly (got landed on by fat mare) and shortly after had spine surgery this is exactly how i feel but i agree its probably the back as i dont see how it could relate to a foot... however until this moment in time for some reason i have blamed it on my foot being mangled for some reason not my back, makes more sense now lol.

Sorry for the waffling, more typing as i think. Yes, sounds like the back.

just had a thought, maybe no stirrups work would help... i'm going to try it, since i get a lot of ankle pain in my 'shorter' more weight right leg too and not done work without stirrups for shamefully long time. Stirrups always feel shorter after no stirrups so at least my left leg might feel more secure. Maybe yours too? just a idea

This happens to me too, but I have known for a long time I have posture and back problems so I put it don to this.

Did you change your saddle around the same time? The same thing happened to me after having a new dressage saddle fitted and it also affected my horse as she became disunited behind. Another change of saddle sorted it straight away. Just an idea!

I do the same! Comes from being right sided and stronger through that side, you slip to your weaker side ie the left effectively lengthening that left side and shortening your stronger tighter muscles on the right.
If you feel this, shift your weight to the right (or should i say seatbones) and really try not to put any weight through your right side to stop you pushing down on your right stirrup.
Its hard and i have by no means got there myself yet. Also get video'd.
Also think of lenghting through your torso to keep you straight in teh saddle
