A farmer at the pub I work in got told via the automated message system Thames Valley Police run - a LOAD of saddles, bridles and rugs have been located in Hampshire, believed to be stolen and from our area. Here's the press release from Hampshire Police:
On 24/10/09 Police from Hampshire and Thames Valley attended an address in Three Mile Cross and recovered a large quantity of tack which is suspected to be stolen. Thousands of pounds worth of suspected stolen horse tack has now been seized (saddles / bridles / rugs etc etc). A previous press release was issued on 22/10 however a further seizure has now been made.
If you have recently had tack stolen, which is outstanding and identifiable please contact PC Stacy BEALE on 0845 045 45 45, quoting operation 'Jockey'. Please ensure that you have your crime reference number (if out of force please provide Police Force name also), full descriptions of your missing property and a photograph if possible.
We are very keen to reunite property with its rightful owners and also assist with marking any new / replacement property that may have been obtained.
3 people have been arrested in connection with the thefts and are currently on Police Bail.
