I have always wanted to drive Donovan, and I feel now is the right time to get started. So, what do i do next? I have never driven before and nor has he, so want to do it right! is there anywhere in kent that would help us?

Another vote for Sara Howe. I recently did the 'Driving back to sport' course with her. She is beyond patient, is really friendly and is an absolute demon when driving her welshies! My pony will be going to her when he's ready to be broken to harness. :D

Another vote for Sara Howe, had a lesson with her with one of her horses back in January. Was brilliant :D really enjoyed it would have had more lessons if I could have afforded it

You could give Minnismoor a ring. They do driving/RDA as well as being a riding stables so may be able to help you or will definitely know of someone nearer than Sevenoaks who can. There is a local driving club as well. Can't recall their name off the top of my head but google it for kent area and you should find it. They are bound to have knowledge of who can help locally.

Sara Howe, Jane Lamb, Sonny Hillier, Barry Lux, lots of driving folk in Kent who could help you.

You would be best off going and having some driving lessons yourself before breaking your horse to harness, you may not enjoy it! It can be a strange feeling having the horse that far in front of you. Be warned though; if you get bitten by the driving bug, your wallet will be in peril!

yes, definately looking to have a few lessons before investing!!! I have been thinking about doing this for such a long time, and OH asked me the other day what I wanted for my birthday. A few lessons sounds good to me!!!

Be very careful!! I started having a few lessons three years ago, I'm currently sat in my three horse box, with a carriage trailer behind, side stabling fitted to both box and trailer, generator, TV, Fridge, beds, harness, carriage etc with a long road ahead of me to collect my driving pony from the schooling yard he's been at for the past five weeks (as he was being a total brat earlier in the season!) so I have 150 miles to collect him, then a further 40 on to the trials, my back stepper is joining us tonight by train, as she's stuck in the office, and poor Dad is driving all of this lot about for me (as I haven't yet done my class one) with a confused look on his face that plainly says he's not sure what happened as 4 years ago all I had was a little SJ mare, a 4 wheel drive and trailer.

The bug is a peril not only on my wallet, but those of my parents as well (im 28!!!) bless them!

It is great fun though, id say Sara Howe as well.
