Any recommended reputable dealers? Seriously!

I live in Surrey but pretty much willing to travel anywhere, within reason for a good dealer!

Mainly looking for just a genuine allrounder, anything but HW cob's basically, so any Sec D's, WB, Natives etc!

Ha, yeah typical i know! I'd rather buy from someone privately but just wondered if there were any decent dealers out there! Thanks anyway!

Would like to be able to help but the only good dealer i know tends not to deal on those sorts of types, good luck

Some good dealers in Surrey/ Sussex
Steve Lamb - Rusper
Prestwood - Charlwood
Southgate FArm - be a bit more careful but 50% or our yard is from there
If you hear of any others PM me and then I can let you know if have a reputation as used to work for horse vet

These are very good - they've loads of horses and will exchange on a two month policy if you aren't happy. If they don't have anything you want to exchange to (which is unlikely) she will go back over to Holland to get you something. Good trial facilities as well - good luck

Not looking to do competing or anything major but would like a horse capable of SJ, XC, allrounder.

Mainly looking for 14hh - 16hh no more than £5000.

Not from personal experience, but I have heard Sandalls Farm are good for allrounders - they mainly have irish horses in which tend to be good allrounders with generally good temperaments.

Limes Farm down in Kent have some nice allrounders in and are aparently pretty straight to deal with.

Also, Steve Lamb is meant to be good, but he generally has young warmbloods for SJ in, rather than RC allrounders.

A friend of mine has just got one from Nick Campbell in Wilts and she said he was very straight and didn't try and sell her anything which wouldn't have suited.

I'm looking for a Dressage horse at the moment too, so understand your frustrations!!!

Also, Lyn Russell has some nice light weight Irish Cobs/IDxTB's in, which can do all the above and are ususally fun, easy horses. I know someone who got her last 2 horses from her and both have been fab.

She is a bit pricey, but £5k got my friend a really nice youngster.

Been involved with two cobs from here and both have been lovely. Most are unbroken / lightly backed though. They have loads so if your interested ring them and go have a look at most aren't on the website. (JoBo cob was from here). They are in Folkestone. Also got my warmblood from the same place. xxx

I have come across two very good dealers one in surrey and the other in sussex!

Prestwoodfarm - charlwood

and Sandalls farm - mayfield

they are both really helpful and have some lovely horses

personaly id ALWAYS go to a dealer to buy. they usualy offer a warrenty, and if the horse proves to be "not as described" you always have trading standards to fall back on.
As long as they registered with inland revenue as something to do with horses, then you are protected.

you may pay a tad more but if you go to a big yard you can see 5-10 horses at once, saves a bundle on petrol and generaly you dont get lies. "oh my horse can jump fox, will go opens." when what they mean is " can just stumble over a cross pole"

Id reccomend Jumpthemoon suggestion had several lovely horses off carron/ben, brought a 4yr mare out of harcos for just 3k. her scope is just, well gobsmaking. she did prove to be damm difficult to break because she hadn't been handled much but now is a darling.

I saw some crakers at carron's place. def go to dealer.

Not all small dealers are cowboys. I bought my boy from a local girl who has just started dealing. She let me have him on trial for 3 weeks first and was very honest and helpful. Have had him for 2 months now and he is an absolute dream - he does exactly what she said he does and a bargain at 3k.
