I'm a level 1 Reiki healer however never used it on a commercial basis (for fear of scepticism really no way to prove i'm doing anything other than hovering or just stroking horses!).
I was attuned in my teens as my mum was very unwell and spending a fortune of alternative therapies and wanted to try and help in my own special way .
I have just used it for my own horses and to be honest I have no idea (or proof) if it "works" or not but have spent time working on my own horses with injuries (including torn tendons and even fractures!) in conjunction with natural remedies and I must say the healing results seem a lot better and quicker than expected (I am a Adult Nurse so I do know what to look for!)
All I can say is that my hands "tingle" the kind of feeling you get when you clap your hands together when i'm over a "hot spot" and i'm fairly sure I could do this blind folded and pick up my own horses injury's but as a paying client you need to be prepared to be open minded and see no "proof" for what you paying for and be prepared to judge on results.
As a person educated to degree level in medical circles I find it hard to believe the theory but I can obviously "feel it" and there are a lot of things out there that cant be explained!!!
Sometimes when you're stumped about what actually led a horse to being ill, it does make you wish your horse could talk to you. I saw a video a week or so ago of a communicator and horse, and witnessing the results of the session was pretty awesome.
In no way would I choose reiki over vet advise, but that wouldn't stop be from using it as part of the healing process
I am a reiki healer. We did a big thread about it not long ago, I'll see if I can find it, but you could search the forum for "reiki".
If you post a photo I'll happily put your horse on my healing list. I don't charge, don't make any big claims, but it can't do any harm.
Reiki doesn't always go with animal communication. There are lots of Reiki healers who wouldn't make any claims to talk to animals.
