All of the water my girls get comes from rainfall. I have a water butt collecting rain from the gutters, and my trough is filled from the gutter on my field shelter. I also have a pump which pumps water from the stream which also obviously contains rain water.
We are due rain tonight/tomorrow and I've heard from a few places that's it's likely to have ash particles in it. After reading the articles about how toxic the ash is to the animals in Iceland if ingested, I'm a little worried.
Does anyone know how much ash will actually be in the rain, and if it will be diluted enough to be OK or whether I should be taking some tap water down for them?
