Ok last post about showing but i might have a go at some local shows and was wondering if anyone can recommend some local ones in Herts or Bucks that are accepting of newbies plus horses/people that are there although seriously, but to have some fun too?

I know most shows are qualifiers now but would like to do it for experience or me and her so don't want to be laughed at or anything! Do friendly ones exist now? :o

Caddington riding club? Have a google :) I take my youngsters there for their first outings! Im sure they have a novice/true beginner class for horses/riders who havent been placed before

Patchetts showing show, 16th March. Not particularly scary, even I went! (pic in sig, winning and he's just a stinky cob!) Scroll down, page is blank at top:

It's just experience for a newbie, great to get the horse used to the sights and sounds and excitement. Don't worry about the qualifiers, but if you do qualify but don't want to go further, do tell a helper or risk a telling off in the carpark! :p It was my first show and great for the boy.

Equally, Dacorum isn't too scary, just off Junction 9 of the M1 in Westwick Farm (lovely yard!) http://www.dacorumridingclub.co.uk/

Ohh thanks for the warning. When i last took part the qualifiers weren't at the local shows the same, or i didn't go to the 'proper' ones :o
